Lake George Arts: DAYTRIP TO OLANA HISTORIC SITE

Daytrip to Olana and Hudson

The Olana estate was home to Frederic Edwin Church, one of the major figures in the Hudson River School of landscape painting. During a one hour guided tour of Olana’s main floor and studio, learn about his life not only as a well-known painter but also as a self-taught architect, farmer, traveler and landscape designer. Immerse yourself in Frederic Church’s greatest masterpiece – the artful landscape he designed over four decades known as Olana. Take in the gorgeous views of the Hudson River during the fall season and enjoy a catered deli-style lunch from the well-known Cascades, a fixture in Hudson since 1933. Free time is included in the afternoon to visit some art galleries and shops of your choosing in Downtown Hudson.

Transportation is included via Motorcoach from Lake George with parking available at the Warren County Municipal Center. Total cost is $88 LGAP members, and $95 for Non-members. Deadline for payment to the Lake George Arts Project is Friday August 30th, 2019.
